Battery Power Wheels Race Rules
1. Eligibility & Vehicle Requirements
● Age Groups: Participants will be grouped by age. (6 years and under in one class and Over 6 years in another)
● Vehicle Type: Only electric ride-on vehicles
● Battery: 6V to 24V stock batteries are permitted OR a single drill battery (up to 20V is also permitted)
● Decorations: Cosmetic decorations are encouraged. No sharp edges or protruding elements are allowed
2. Safety Gear
● Helmet: A properly fitted helmet is mandatory.
● Clothing: Participants must wear appropriate fitted clothing, anything that could get caught on any part of the vehicle while entering or exiting may result in refusal of entry. Close toed shoes are required.
3. Vehicle Modifications
● Stock Condition: Vehicles must retain the stock power wheels gearbox. ● Battery Placement: The battery must be securely mounted and cannot be placed in the passenger seat.
● Tires: Hard plastic or rubber tires are permitted; no screws, chains, or protruding objects (bolts, spikes, etc) are allowed. If attaching strips of rubber to tires, rivets are allowed.
● Stopping: A vehicle must be able to stop or slow down under its own power. Adult volunteers are not responsible for “catching” or “stopping” the vehicle unless an emergency situation arises
4. Race Format
● Track Length: The drag strip is approximately 80 feet long.
● Starting System: There will be an adult with the organization counting down from 3 OR a flag person to start the race
● Race Type: Races will be conducted in a single elimination format.
● Parent Participation: One parent or guardian may accompany each child on the track for guidance and support.
5. Conduct & Sportsmanship
● Behavior: All participants and spectators are expected to display good sportsmanship.
● Supervision: An adult must supervise children at all times during the event.
● Disqualifications: Any unsafe behavior or violation of the rules may result in disqualification
6. Awards & Recognition
● Winners: Trophies or medals will be awarded to the top finisher in each group WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO MODIFY THE RULES AT ANY TIME
